We have just received word that the dev (Sage of Heroes)
January 20th, 2008
We have just received word that the dev team for Sony Online Entertainment's (SOE) Vanguard: Saga of Heroes MMORPG has moved into the SOE office located in San Diego. The move will entail several changes for the Vanguard team, including the appointment of Thom Terrazas - an eight-year SOE veteran - as their new leader.
The move will grant the Vanguard dev team further access to shared resources and the combined talent of the SOE's dev teams for their other games. On the downside of this news, it's also been reported that not all the members of the Carlsbad group will be invited to stay aboard.
For the gamer folk, this means that the developers may have just gotten additional means to make your in-game experience more enjoyable. For one, there's Vanguard's third patch, the first phase of which kicks in today. The update will carry several new features, including the hot new wyvern mount.
Vanguard creature feature: The Exalted X-99 in the Ancient Port Warehouse
For those of us seeking to explore the Ancient Port Warehouse in SOE's highly-successful MMORPG, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, there's a few things you should know about the creatures that lurk inside that particular place. One is that they're not really keen on having company over - ever - and that adventurers might find their welcome to be a bit sharper than usual.
Not that anybody would exactly feel welcome when met by the Exalted X-99, one of Professor Hopton's masterpieces. Yes, the Exalted X-99, a colossal bit of machinery and two very big and very sharp blades will be the welcoming committee in the Ancient Port Warehouse. Talk about hospitality!
Adventurers can take him on if they dare, but take heed, the X-99 isn't all machine inside. Deep within all that steel resides the soul of Tarselis, the exalted Paladin. Now, it is but a twisted and perverted object, obeying the commands of none other than the X-99's core processor. This makes the X-99 a deadly opponent indeed, as its only goal is to destroy those who dare violate the sanctity of the warehouse.
Should you defeat this metallic monster, you could be rewarded by one of its own weapons, and it's certainly one that's worthy of the warrior who can defeat Tarselis himself. Defeat evil robot, get war sword. Tempting, isn't it? Check back here for more updates regarding Vanguard: Saga of Heroes!
